Succession planning is a focused process for:

• Identifying the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform current and future functions and roles.
• Developing plans to equip and/or attain employees to perform those functions and roles.
• Keeping talent in the pipeline. HR professionals, resource partners working with HR, business owners, stakeholders, and key personnel contribute valuable information.
